To any problem in life — be it personal planning, professional development or sorting out an issue – The solution is the Power of Three. There is never a perfect solution without a perfect approach. It is therefore essential to follow these three steps. If you already know it, may this serve you as a reminder.

First Step

Analyse. What is it that you want to or must work on? This is the step where you target the problem and zero in on what exactly you want to improve. For instance, when you feel that you need to improve your personality ask this question to yourself, “what exactly in me must i improve? Is it my speaking style, my voice or my body language?” . If it your career progress in question then, is it my work performance or an entire shift in my professional direction?
If you are confused it is recommended to ask your teacher, parents or closest friends for feedback. Do you know that feedback on yourself is the first step towards success? Yes, Many great people were ones who asked their peers for feedback. So go ahead – introspect, survey and read your own report. It is obviously better than playing the blame game.

Second Step

Improve. This is something many dream to do but are very skeptical.Why? Because of the fear of wasting precious time, money and energy in the wrong place or with the wrong people. But if you have done step 1 right you are bound to end up in the right place. Enquire about who is the right person to help you overcome that specific area you are looking to work on. Look for experts, not just consultation.
Speak to many people and then make your choice wisely. Follow your best instincts. This is something we are all given – the choice between right and wrong.. If you are confused, ask someone whom you consider a guide to help you . Make this decision, not bases on popularity but from personal testimonies and experience. This is the best step you have taken so far. So, well done.

Third Step

Persevere. Aha! many who have come upto step no. 2 do not cross over to this step. That’s because of the “laziness factor” – the greatest enemy. You must persevere . There is no alternative to this. At this step comes sacrifice and hard work. You may have to make a new friend’s circle, change your lifestyle, Push yourself to practice, practice and practice till you reach perfection. Voila! you are there, at the doorstep of success! Congratulations, you have achieved your goal!
Always remember many set out but few complete the race! Where are you today?

Step Four

Well, did I mention there is a fourth step….well it’s nothing but REPEAT. Progress is the only constant in this competitive world.
